Once again a new moon has arrived, and with it an Age Up! It’ll operate the same way as usual, which is explained below, but of course if you have any questions feel free to let us know ^^
The Age Up process keeps all character sheets up to date with the current moon. It also acts as an activity check of sorts, so we know who’s around and who’s not.
So, if you have any characters that were approved for play before April 1st, 2023, here’s what you have to do.
That’s it!
Anyone who hasn’t replied in a week or so will be tagged, just as a little reminder. On April 14th, anyone who hasn’t aged their characters where necessary will be deemed inactive and their characters will be considered NPCs until they return.
Characters without an IC post in the last two months will also receive a strike for inactivity. (New characters approved between March 1st and 31st are exempt from this – don’t worry!)
One strike
Two strikes
Three strikes
Here’s an example:
Let's say Player A has three characters: Fluffy, Rusty, and Spike.
They reply to the Age Up and have active threads for Fluffy and Spike, but nothing for Rusty.
Rusty gets one strike, and at the next Age Up they have to have two active threads for Rusty, but still only need one each for Fluffy and Spike.
Once conditions are met to lose a strike, the character will go down one strike level. For example, if Fluffy has two strikes and Player A fulfills the requirement of three active threads for the character, at the next Age Up Fluffy will be downgraded to just one strike.
If conditions are partially met (only one active thread but requiring two or three) then the character will retain their strikes but won’t gain additional ones.
If you don’t have any characters that were approved before April 1st, then you don’t have to worry about any of this (until next moon)!
That’s all! Here’s to another great moon~

So, if you have any characters that were approved for play before April 1st, 2023, here’s what you have to do.
- Go to your cat’s character sheet, and edit the age so they are older by one moon. Repeat for any other characters necessary.
- Link all of the newly edited character sheets in a reply to this thread so they can be verified.
- Next to each cat’s name, link any thread actively using that character within the last two real life months (one or more posts between February 1, 2023 and March 31, 2023).

Depending on how many strikes a character has, there will be different consequences and requirements to fulfill.
One strike
- The affected character will need to have two active threads for the next Age Up to lose their strike. Players can complete one thread at a time, or have multiple ongoing if they like.
- New characters cannot be created by the player if any of their existing characters have strikes.
Two strikes
- The affected character will need to have three active threads for the next Age Up to lose this strike. Players can complete one thread at a time, or have multiple ongoing if they like.
Three strikes
- The affected character will become a temporary NPC for one moon.
- Staff will discuss options with the player.
- This will also be a chance to focus on any other characters and bring up their overall activity.
