Name: Noctus
Desired Name: Currently undecided.
Allegiance: Solitary
Rank: N/A.
Age: 40 moons
Birth Moon: Flower Moon 2018
Sex: Tom
Appearance:
Noctus is a sleek, pitch black tom. He has a lithe frame, though there is a decent amount of muscle hiding under that glossy fur. His fur is short, but he has a nice undercoat that keeps the chill out most days. Dark paw pads with a matching nose make this tom nearly impossible to spot in the middle of the night, with only his glowing yellow eyes giving him away.
Personality:
Despite his dark looks, Noctus is a rather laid-back fellow. He prefers not to stir up conflict and tends to keep to himself most of the time. If he runs into another cat he’ll happily make conversation, but he’s used to being alone and doesn’t mind the solitude. He won’t fight another cat unless absolutely necessary, as he finds it easier to simply move on and find somewhere new. When it comes to the few cats he has truly bonded with, he’ll readily lay down his life for them.
Noctus has always had a bit of a soft spot for kits, though he never expected he’d have any of his own. When Dahlia told him she was expecting his kits, it amplified his already protective nature. Now they are his whole world, and he’s not sure what his life would be like without them. He does think they can be a bit of a pawful sometimes, especially Lily with her big dreams and even bigger attitude, but he adores them all the same.
History:
Like many cats, Noctus was told stories of the great Clans as a young kit. As they grew older, he and his littermates stopped believing in such fanciful tales, but Noctus still enjoyed listening to them. Once he reached adulthood, he decided to set out on his own and have his own adventure. He never stayed in one place for long, quickly moving on to the next when he grew tired of an area. There was never much to hold him in the places he visited, and so he passed through without fanfare. Then he met Dahlia.
He was not intending on staying in the twolegplace for much more than a few days, but the pretty she-cat sitting in one of the gardens was friendly enough that he quickly extended his stay. A few more nights grew to a quarter-moon, then a half-moon, and before he knew it Noctus had been visiting the house cat for half a season. She loved to listen to his stories, both his adventures in the wilds and the tales he had learned in his kithood. He loved her sweet personality, her gentle innocence. They were absolutely starry-eyed for one another, and it wasn’t long until Dahlia told him she was expecting his kits.
He was shocked and, to be honest, a bit frightened. He would be a father? But that was quickly replaced with a fierce joy he hadn’t expected. Dahlia’s housefolk were kind, and the kits would be safe. He could live in the forest near their home and visit whenever he liked, and still have relative freedom. There were merits to living with housefolk, he conceded, but nothing could beat a freshly caught mouse.
Once the kits were born, he fell in love all over again. They were perfect, all four of them. As they grew into strong little cats, he visited almost every day and would tell them the same stories he had told their mother. They especially seemed to like the stories about the Clans, as most kits do, and so he told those most often. Now that they’re older and live with their own housefolk, he splits his time between their gardens whenever he’s not wandering the forest. And of course, he visits Dahlia as much as he can, still rather smitten with her even after all these moons.
