Name: Heronkit Heronpaw
Desired Name: Heronfrost
Allegiance:Currently solitary RiverClan
Rank:Loner Apprentice
Age: 14 moons
Birth Moon: Thunder moon 2020
Sex: Tom
Appearance:Were Heronkit, Minnowkit, and Shellspots to curl up together, you wouldn't be able to tell where one cat ended and the other started. Heronkit shares his silver spotted pelt with both of his family members. The only things that sets him apart is his orange-gold eyes and his gender. As he grows the differences are going to be expanded with size and height.
Heronpaw still has some growing to do, but it's obvious that he'll have a decent size advantage once he's done. Not in bulk, as he's never going to be the brawniest cat, but in height. His legs are long and slim, as is the rest of him. His shoulders are equally slim, and his body shape is lean and slender. Perfect for swimming without being weighed down by muscle and fur.
His fur is soft and sleek, a beautiful silver color shot through with black spots and stripes. The spots are mainly on his back, sides, and belly though, while the stripes are mainly on his legs and tail. His eyes are a warm yellow color, the only thing aside from his gender that physically sets him apart from his mother and sister.
Personality:The worst part of the Clan stories his mother tells him is the infighting between the Clans. Heronkit can't stand the thought of hurting another cat, and even worse is the idea of another cat hurting his family. He's a warm and gentle soul would sooner treat wounds than cause them. He knows the stories of the Clans makes his mother happy and he knows she wants to recreate them, but he wishes Shellspots could live more in the here and now than the past or future.
Heronpaw used to be intrigued with the stories his mother would tell them. He enjoyed the idea of Clan cats living together and fighting together to protect each other. Now he kind of wishes they'd never existed though, because at least then his mother would pay attention to them as her kits instead of apprentices for her Clan.
He's a bit of a grump, to be honest. He doesn't participate in games with the other apprentices, not even Minnowpaw, and he doesn't even like training with them. He prefers being by himself most of the time, whether it be fishing or hunting or just taking a walk. It's not that he MINDS other cats, it's that most of the cats he knows are loud and obnoxious and pester him.
Despite his... disposition, Heronpaw DOES love his family. He wouldn't dream of leaving them, or the Clan Shellspots was working so hard to establish. He does enjoy helping other cats, that warm glow of accomplishment when he knows he made somebody's life better. Safer. Easier. So he can't really blame Shellspots for her slight obsession with the Clans of old. He CAN blame her for having tunnel vision though and blocking out everything, including her family.
History:Heronkit had been fed the stories of the Clans almost from birth. He knew their names and was they called the Warrior Code before he even tasted mouse for the first time. Even his name, Heronkit, is part of Clan tradition. His mother, Shellspots, was raised on these same stories, and Heronkit knows how important they are to her. That's the only reason he isn't more grumbly about them.
He and his sister, Minnowkit, were sired by a loner named Comet. They've never met Comet and probably never will. The only thing Heronkit knows about him is that he and Shellspots parted on amicable terms because Comet didn't want to become a Clan cat. Heronkit hopes to find him one day, though, if only to have a cat around who can actually go ONE CONVERSATION without mentioning the Clans.
From the time he was born, Heronkit was fed stories of the Clans. He could tell you their names, their ranks, and nearly every rule of their so-called Warrior Code. All before he eve tasted mouse for the first time. Even his name, Heronkit, was part of Clan tradition, as was his mother's name and his sister's. Shellspots had been raised on the same stories she raised her kits on, and was determined to see the Clans remade.
To her credit, one after another, cats joined RiverClan. Heronkit was made an official apprentice, his name being changed to Heronpaw, and his training to be shared among the adults of the Clan. Which would have been fine... if the only time Shellspots spoke to them wasn't to check on their training. Heronpaw saw less of the cat that raised him and more of the cat that longed to be seen as leader of her Clan.
He hadn't known he was trading his mother for his Clan. Heronpaw kind of resents her for it.
