Name: Loon
Desired Name: Loonthistle
Allegiance: Solitary
Rank: N/A
Gender: She-cat (she/her)
Sex: Queen
Age: 25 moons
Birth Moon: Fire Moon 2019
Appearance: A lean black and white she cat with yellow-green eyes. She looks very similar to her brother Ducky, with smooth fur and an athletic build, but unlike her brother, she carries around an intense gaze some may find unnerving.
Personality: Loon is a good-natured cat with a strong heart for others, but is so often preoccupied with others’ well-being that she neglects her own. She’s passionately protective, a remnant of how the loss of her parents has affected her. In her eyes, if she wants to prevent bad things from happening, she has to nip the weeds where they sprout. Her desire to keep everything controlled can become intense and obsessive if left unchecked.
Compared to the cat she used to be, Loon finds it difficult to let herself be loose and live more freely. While the occasional joke or story can lift her up, so much of her attention is focused on things that should be, worrying herself sick with all the anxiety. Life is much better if Loon knows the script. Fiercely trying to prove herself as loyal and worthy, Loon can often go overboard in pleasing others. Her loyalty can also blind her to injustices that may occur under leaderships.
History: Born to a pair of loners, Loon always felt tied to her kin. Her brother, for all of his eccentricities, was still someone she cared for deeply. But of her family members, she was closest to her mother. Whenever Loon struggled with anxiety or needed a helping paw, her mother was always there for her with words of wisdom. It was she who inspired Loon’s love of water.
Her fondest memories were of the greenleaf moons spent swimming in the river with her family. That was a time when Loon felt truly free.
Of course, they had their spats. When Loon and Ducky were 18 moons old, a pair of otters moved in. Loon argued at length with her mother to move to another area, fearful that the otters might attack. However, their parents made a final decision to stay by the river, wary of the otters, but sure that they wouldn’t attack.
By a cruel twist of fate, when Loon’s mother drew too close to them, the otters attacked her. Her father jumped into save her, but both parents were overpowered by the otters.
The loss of her mother emotionally wrecked Loon, and for a time, she struggled to eat. Eventually, she and Ducky traveled in search of a new home, wishing to leave the bad memories of the lake behind.
Though nervous about where the future will lead, she knows that she isn‘t alone.
