Personality: Finchbreeze is a stubborn, no-nonsense cat, who knows exactly where her priorities lie in. Once she’s set on a particular goal, she’ll stop at nothing to accomplish it, because there’s nothing worse than an unfinished task. She’s fiercely devoted to her family and tradition, which some may critique her for being too uptight. A perfectionist at heart, Finchbreeze has a reputation to uphold and is highly critical of herself. She has a deep passion and care for those she considers family, and hates causing disappointment to them. She constantly analyzes every instance, scenario, and possibility so that she is never caught off-guard. Though sociable and able to carry along a conversation, Finchbreeze’s relationships are distant at best; nothing is worse than revealing vulnerabilities to cats she doesn’t yet trust. As such, Finchbreeze can be hard to reach, being so private and closed off.
History: Finchbreezs was born generations after WindClan fell. Her mother, Cardinalshade tried to maintain the cultural legacy of WindClan by telling stories passed down by generations as nursery tales, epic battles, and tragic romances, and then by training her in the ways of warriors. These stories always stuck with Finchbreeze, and were how she connected with her morher. Her fondest memories were of walking around the parks of twolegplace, learning about stories and about WindClan, and the moor. As her mother described it, the moor was a place of boundless prey and endless room to roam. Finchbreeze promised her mother that they would one day return to their true home. They had made an attempt on traveling to the moor, but they were caught in a heavy rainstorm. Seeking shelter, they returned to twolegplace.
Sadly, Cardinalshade died of pneumonia when Finchbreeze was 21 moons old. No matter how much she reached out to the local medics of twolegplace for a cure for her mother, Finchbreeze found little luck. However, when she was looking for someone to treat her mother, she met a cat named Garlic. He was kind, soft-spoken, and knowledgeable about herbs. When Finchbreeze’s mother passed, Garlic supported her during her grieving process. Overtime, Finchbreeze came to terms with her mother’s death, but still felt the burden of passing on WindClan’s cultural legacy. She and Garlic became close friends, and the two shared their most intimate vulnerabilities.
She had intended on traveling to the moor after Cardinalshade’s passing, but then Garlic confessed his feelings to her. Though Finchbreeze viewed Garlic as a friend, she accepted his confession in the hopes of starting a family, and passing the stories of WindClan down to the next generation. Then at 27 moons, Finchbreeze had Robin and Jackdaw. At their birth, the new parents felt a drive to protect their kits the best they could. But such passions drove deep divisons between them, as the pair had conflicting visions of the future of their kits. Finchbreeze wished to take their kits to the moor, but Garlic thought twolegplace was safer. Finchbreeze attempted to pass WindClan stories to her kits, but Garlic felt that Finchbreeze needed to cut herself off from past in order to grow. Garlic’s accusations that Finchbreeze didn’t love him the same amount also drove more cracks in their relationship.
In the end, these arguments split them apart, and by this time, Robin and Jackdaw had weaned and were now seven moons old. Finchbreeze and Garlic decided on split custody, with Robin going to the former, and Jackdaw going to the latter. After separating, Finchbreeze embarked on a traveled to the moor with Robin…
