Name: Cecil
Desired Name: Robincloud
Allegiance: Solitary
Rank: N/A
Age: 31 moons
Birth Moon: Snow Moon 2019
Sex: Tom (he/him)
Appearance:
Cecil is a rather delicate looking flame point, with soft creamy fur covering most of his body and warm ginger points on his muzzle, ears, paws, and tail. His long fur is very light and fluffy, and occasionally gives him the appearance of being a cloud. His eyes are an icy blue, and their lack of pigment makes them quite sensitive to the sun.
Personality:
Cecil is a rather sweet-tempered cat, not one to rile easily. In fact, he often ignores provocation and tension between other cats entirely, though whether it’s a diffusion tactic or if he’s simply that oblivious isn’t always clear. With his soft, gentle voice, he’s found in the past that he can make a good mediator for arguments. That said, he does have a playful streak to him, and when he knows a cat well enough he enjoys teasing them good-naturedly.
He has a tendency to give cats nicknames, and his housemate Piper knows this very well. He almost never calls her by her true name, instead choosing to refer to her most commonly as Pip, Pippa, and Pippin, among others.
Cecil has always had the feeling that there is something greater waiting for him, that there’s more to the outside world than meets the eye. However, he’s happy to wait patiently while the universe decides how and when to show him his true life’s purpose.
History:
Born in a twoleg home to a breeding queen, Cecil doesn’t remember much about his parents or littermates. He spent such a short time with them that the details blur together, and all he really recalls are days of exploring with other kittens and being curled warmly into his mother’s belly as her tongue rasped over his fur. At two moons old, he was taken to his new home, far away from the nest where he was born.
His new housefolk had a magnificent garden, which he was allowed to play in as much as he liked. He took a particular interest in the various plants they had growing there, and would spend ages sniffing at them and learning to tell them apart from one another. He wasn’t sure what it was about them that caught his attention, but something in the back of his mind told him they might be useful one day.
When Cecil was about a year and a half old, his housefolk brought home a new kitten, a little whirlwind of energy named Piper. While her presence was exhausting for poor Cecil, with him suddenly forced into the role of big brother and teacher, in less than a moon he was wrapped around her paw and he has adored her ever since.
From then on the two of them got on swimmingly, Piper injecting his days with excitement and Cecil keeping her from getting into too much trouble. Both of them were pampered by their housefolk, and spent many a day lounging in a sunbeam or chasing each other through the garden.
When he was about 23 moons old, the dreams started. Cecil began having dreams of starry cats, coming to him and murmuring in his ears about a destiny long in the making. One cat in particular liked to visit him more than the others, a pretty tabby that would show him stalks of different plants and tell him what they were good for. When he told Piper, she thought he had fluff in his brain, but he wanted to believe they were true. After all, why else would he be so drawn to plants? Cecil wanted to trust in the universe that there was more out there, just waiting for him.
He wasn’t ready to leave Piper on her own, however. She was still just seven moons old, and Cecil was fiercely protective. It was cold and dangerous outside, and so there was no way she could come with him. So he ignored the summons of these starry cats, telling him to seek out his destiny, and chose to instead devote himself to learning all they had to teach him from the comfort of his garden.
Now, four moons later, he’s struggling. The draw to leave his housefolk is stronger than ever, and now that the weather is warmer and Piper is eleven moons old, his resolve is starting to weaken. Perhaps one day soon he’ll finally set out on his journey.
