Thunder 10, 2021 | k1inglyVulture wasn’t too much of a fan of the weather. But after days of suffering through humid and sweltering heat, he felt the sun burn through his dark fur, and he wanted to hide from his skin—the chance of rain was a welcome one. The clouds moved quickly, like a fish swimming through water. They were not fluffy white clouds, but stone dark and thick. Off in the distance, thunder screamed from the horizon, barking out a threat to anyone in range.
And yet, despite the turn in the wind and its sudden shift in speed, and despite the anxiety brewing in his stomach, he pushed it all away and ran. Ran because he needed to get back home.
“Fox-dung, I knew I shouldn’t have gone chasing after that rabbit,” he said. Rabbits were awful creatures who humiliated him with their taunting speed. He decided to himself that he would no longer hunt rabbits without Hawk nearby. He rushed down the moor, all too aware of the whelming darkness above. Only moments ago, it seemed like it was still the afternoon…
The rain began pouring in droves. Vulture kept himself running, pushing through the rain, knowing full well what would soon arrive.. “I’ll get there eventually, Hawk.”

smile. don't you dare cry. The air was heavy with the thick scent of rain. Ghost knew he should stop hunting and head back to his sheltered den, but it looked as if the storm would take place for a long time. Possibly two days with how the smell of storm lingered. It had been sunny before. Sunny and calm. Then the wind picked up. It was sudden, and the light-furred feline had been hunting. The strong gale nipped at his prey, forcing it to leave out of fear of the sudden movement. Skittish creatures were the worst to hunt. I’ll have to look for something else, lest it starts pouring and the weather forced me home.Narrowed eyes, flicking tail, the irritated loner made his way towards the moors for the direction of home. Maybe he would pick up a quick catch on the way back. ═════════•°• ⚠ •°•═════════ The rain was pouring in droves as the feline trudged on through. Not much longer, I hope.By now, all the game had been chased away to the safety of their homes. Ghost would surely be sick after this, and would have to find some cat with the knowledge of herbs. Maybe he would pester those clan cats, if that’s the last and only option. Well, at least he came out with some prey, even if it is a small bird. Something caught their eye in the blurry rain. A flash of fur running across the moor, seemingly in his direction. Ah, another unfortunate idiot caught up in the storm. They must be heading home, like him. If they were to cross paths, might as well say hello. It seemed that they had a long way to go, so for this once, Ghost decided to offer his home as shelter. It wasn’t far away. He felt, though, as if he’d regret this. A sour tang in his mouth already showed his displeasure of company, but he couldn’t let another cat out in this weather. He wasn’t cruel. “Hey! Do you have long to go?!” he shouted at the incoming feline, loud enough so they could hear over the near-deafening downpour. “If you wish, you can pass the time in my den until the storm dies down. It’s not too far. You shouldn’t stay outside too long in this weather. It’s dangerous” he still hated this. Having others over, in his home, it made him uncomfortable. Maybe they’d see what a mess he is, though surely they’d be worse than him. Even though Ghost had the burning desire to let the cat continue their journey, he couldn’t help but fold to his other side. He was once caught in a storm when he was younger, and had no where to go. If it was not for a kind stranger, he would of died. This was his way of paying respects to that kind loner, who, like him, hated company and looked down on others. ═════════•°• ⚠ •°•═════════ text thoughts "speech"Solaris // 485 words // i hope this is okay!! omg ghost is being nice 0: //

Thunder 10, 2021 | k1inglyHis vision blurred by the droning rain, Vulture shuddered from the cold and damp droplets that weighed down his sleek pelt. He reached the dip of the hill, but the rain’s torrenting was relentless and cruel and he was barely able to peer out to the world around him. The grass was damp and then soaked, the dirt turned to mud, he caught the unsavory sight of worms wriggling from the ground. But as he spun around, finding himself lost in the rain, he almost thought he was going to drown until—
There was a cry from somewhere—it sounded like a voice?—and it rang in his ears faintly, nearly drowned out by the pounding rain. The sky cracked and web-like lightning streaks flashed from the clouds. If he could go underground right about now, Vulture would feel a lot safer. He squinted at the stranger, unable to catch much of their features, other than their dark pelt, but he turned to them and shouted back desperately. “A den? Where!”
Perhaps, when Vulture wasn’t being slaughtered by the rain, he would have the chance to explain his situation. But of course, safety and shelter came first.
