Hare 34 Moons / She/Her / Loner
Prey Moon 25 2021
Hare padded through the forest, her ears perked for any predator or foe that could be near, but she assured herself that she was just stressing herself out.
It had only been a few days since she had left the two-legged place, and it felt good to be away from there. The air was fresher, and she felt free without the huge walls or cars rumbling past. Though, being alone throughout the day made the journey feel off. Usually, she would have Bunny by her side and, from time to time, a stranger, but since she had left her sister silently in the night, she had been alone. Hare tried not to think about it too much. It made her feel lonelier than she already was, and she was not going to tuck her tail between her legs and run back to her sister, crying.
She strengthened her head and continued on. Hare needed a way out of the forest, and she would be using one of the trees as a way out. She climbed the tree with some struggle before she could peer around above the other trees and see a big patch of land where no trees were. Perfect.
She scrambled down the tree and set off for the mores, the tip of her tail twisting with anticipation as she hoped to get out of the forest and closer to the sky.

Hare heard the voice ring out and turned to where the sound was coming from. She wanted to run, but she reasoned with herself that that would be stupid. She glanced down at her paws as she flexed her claws. Hare took a deep breath and sheaved her claws before pushing herself through the bushes.
Hare came out of the bushes to see Dapple in a defensive state, making her fur stand up, but she licked her paw to calm herself down before saying, "I am Hare. You?"
Staying casual should be good; it usually worked out in the two-legged place, unless you ran into someone who purposely caused trouble, but judging from the stranger cat's stance, Hare reasoned with herself that this was probably self-defense or that she had trotted her way through someone's territory. It is better to explain herself and make friends instead of running away or fighting and creating enemies.

It took a fair moment for the unknown threat to reveal itself. It was a cat, a tannish-brown she-cat who bristled at the sight of Dapple but forced herself to calm down. Dapple eyed her warily but sheathed her own claws. She'd keep her guard up but she wouldn't be the one to start any conflict.
The she-cat introduced herself as Hare, and Dapple nodded in greeting. "Dapple." she meowed, giving her own name. "Apologies for the hostility. I'm not normally so rude but, well, one can never be too careful. My mate's paranoia must have gotten in my head." She laughed lightly, a little derisive sound.
Hare seemed rather relaxed and Dapple did her best to match, sitting back on her haunches and taking in a deep, slow breath before releasing it in a deep sigh. "My family and I are fairly new to the forest and it has me rather spooked, I'm afraid."

Hare, copying Dapple, also sat down. Upon hearing Dapple announce she was new to the forest, it gave Hare some ease. This cat shouldn't be too hostile. Hare said, "I'm also new to the forest. I've been trying to find the moors, but I think I got myself a bit lost." She let out a laugh before looking more closely at Dapple. taking note of the feline's appearance in case she ever encounters Dapple again.
Hare said, "I did not realize other cats lived in the forest." Her gaze started to look off into the distance before blinking and snapping back to Dapple. "Do you know of any other cats who live near here? Or maybe out in the moors or something?" Maybe this cat could lead Hare to more information about the clans.
