As time passes so does the seasons. The bite of the coldest of moons always gives way to the thaw of the warmer; thus it brings many opportunity for life to grow, awaken, and be reborn. It was something that the feline enjoyed most about the passing of the moons. The change. Like a palpable caress along her spine she could feel the world around her shift by the coming days. The colder bite turns into a playful breeze of warmth through her fur as much as the strands of grass blows in the gentle wind. She could smell the new life of plants slowly peaking through the cold hard ground in favor of turning their faces to the sun that shone down on them. It was refreshing to wake up to; at least Miku thought so as she allowed her body to slink from beneath an crop of rocks that had been giving her a resemblance of shelter for the night and allow her slight form to find warmth beneath the sun's rays.
She let a long sigh of delight to leave her maw as she stretched; hearing the slight pops of her spine as she did so before placing herself back upright. Her green eyes; the color of a new bud of flower yet unraveled to the sun peered around the familiar encampment she claimed for herself for a few nights. The tumbling stones that piled in a messy way was by all rights her home; or her home for the past few nights that is before she chooses to travel further in search of...something. Whatever she sought after was nothing but a foggy blur filed away at the back of her memory. She felt as if she was missing something; what she did not yet know but she was keen to find out. Having traveled much while she was younger she could only do what her heart demanded of her and follow her instincts to find that what she had lost. So she had even if it brought many migraines she'd have to seek some poppy for when available.
That is what she hated most, not knowing. Fearing what she had forgotten because she knew it was something important. Had she family that she'd been separated from? A mate perhaps? Kits that she did not remember? Parents that could be worried sick about her? Miku did not know and it bothered her; she hated not knowing things especially when they decided to nag the ever living life out of her on the daily. She'd woken up like that about two moons prior. Wet, cold, and injury to her skull that took away the memories of the last few moons away from her; nothing but a blank slate anytime she'd attempt to remember. Had she slipped and fallen while doing some sort of activity that made her tumble into the water only to bump her head? That was clear enough, what was not clear was that she was all alone on the edge of a shallow bank where she must have been dragged by the water to land at the shoreline. Was no one looking for her? Did they know she was gone?
She blinked, troubled by the many questions she did not have the answers to. There would be plenty time for such thoughts later. Right now, she needed to focus on finding herself something to eat; her stomach growling at the notion of food spurring her into action. Quick and nimble paws skidded across one smooth stone and then another as she leapt to the pile of rock she had been sleeping under and now stood upon to look around the area. Keen eyes found the familiar landscape that she had spent hours observing without interruptions for the past few days and now she gazed at it again in hopes to find something of importance to compare the quiet landscape.
Perhaps, it was her lack of attention that made her react violently or the fact that it embarrassed her that she'd been caught unaware but she had been quick to turn when she heard the movement behind her; a faint crumble of stone, a brush of fur against reeds, and the unmistakable sound of a heartbeat ringing in her ears that made the slate grey molly turn on her tail to look behind her. Green eyes like a startled deer staring down the slope of the pile of rocks she stood upon to stare down at the figure attempting to sneak up on her. At first, she froze believing a predator had gotten too close without her knowing but then she blinked and blinked again for good measure when her mind finally registered the creature below her.
"What are you doing?" she asked; voice soft but filled with amusement as she looked down at the fellow feline at the base of the rock. "Do you make it a habit of sneaking up on others? That's quite rude you know."
