Lily || Queen || 5 moons The day had barely begun, but Lily was bored. Her housefolk weren't home to play with her, and it just wasn't the same batting a crinkly ball around by herself. She had gone out into the garden to play a while ago, but her usual games of pretend weren't holding her interest as they normally did. She could go visit one of her littermates, but it would be much the same as her own garden. She wanted to do something new and exciting. The young cat sighed, looking out the window from where she was splayed on her cat tree.
From here, she had a view out into her garden, and beyond that she could see a sliver of the forest in the gap between two other nests. It wasn't as good as the view from her mother's garden, which bordered right on the edge of the forest, but she could still see the towering trees and occasionally a bird or squirrel. As she stared at the large boughs, an idea started to take root in her mind. She had always wanted to explore the forest like her dad, Noctus. Why not today?
Suddenly full of energy, the little cat leapt to the floor and made a beeline for the cat flap. As she stepped into the manicured grass of her garden, Lily had another brilliant idea. She could bring her siblings along! It would be a grand adventure. With some difficulty, she scrambled up the side of the fence until she could perch on the edge. Bluebell's garden was the closest to her own, so she would head there first. After a short trot along the fence, she peered down into her sister's garden to see if she could spot her.
"Good morning, Bluebell!" Lily called loudly. "Are you out here? Let's go on an adventure!"

Every day, Bluebell's housefolk and their kits left at the same time in the morning. Where to, she didn't know. But that was alright, because she had the whole garden to herself! So, she had laid herself outright in the middle to soak up the morning sunbeams and take a well-deserved nap (why did she deserve a nap? Just because). But, before she could even consider snoozing the day away, a butterfly had the nerve to enter her sanctuary. It's yellow wings flapped near her face before flying a bit further away, and the she-cat found herself extremely annoyed; as though the creature was taunting her with the ability to go where it pleased. Letting out an exasperated huff, she quickly jumped up and got herself ready to chase after it. Obviously it couldn't just get away for being so obnoxious. Especially in her garden, of all places! Her eyes narrowed, concentrating on the bug. Her haunches wiggled, her tail lashing, readying herself to rush after it in three... two... on-
"Good morning, Bluebell!" A voice called loudly. "Are you out here? Let's go on an adventure!"
Bluebell startled, scrambling out of her position in order to face the voice. It was, of course, her sister Lily; already up bright and early. But, glancing back over to where the yellow-winged fiend had once been, she nearly yelled in frustration as the butterfly flew too high for her to catch. Narrowing her eyes, she whipped her head around and glared at her sister, accusingly saying, "Seriously Lily? I was gonna catch the butterfly for interrupting my morning nap and now you-" The tiny she-cat paused her rant, her sister's words finally sinking in. "Wait, an adventure?" Her blue eyes glowing with happiness, she replied excitedly, "Count me in!" Running over to the fence, she climbed to the top (with little grace, mind you) and faced Lily, her tail lashing in elation, "Where to?" 322 words | Kaeldra | sorry for the wait and i hope this is ok!

Lily || Queen || 5 moons Lily spotted her sister quickly enough, spinning around with a hiss as she was distracted. She watched the little yellow butterfly with mildly curious eyes as it flitted off to some other cat's garden. Only half-listening as Bluebell complained about her sabotaged revenge, Lily knew that this outing would prove to be far more exciting.
"Seriously Lily? I was gonna catch the butterfly for interrupting my morning nap and now you-" The smaller cat broke off suddenly as she seemed to finally process Lily's invitation. The irritated scowl dropped from her face, replaced with eager curiosity. "Wait, an adventure? Count me in!" She watched Bluebell claw her way to the top of the fence to join her, eyes aglow with excitement. "Where to?" Bluebell's excitement only amplified Lily's own, and she found her paws itching to get moving again now that she'd successfully recruited one accomplice.
"We're going to the forest! Well, we're going to go get Zinnia and Basil first so we can all go together, but then we can explore like dad is always doing! We can catch mice, and maybe we'll even meet some wild cats," she daydreamed as she spoke, getting carried away. She shook her head lightly, forcing her thoughts to get back on track. "Let's split up and go get them, then meet at mama's garden. I'll go get Basil, and you can get Zinnia! Okay?" Lily kneaded her paws in front of her, ready to go dashing off as soon as her sister agreed.

Bluebell's eyes widened. "The forest?! Heck yeah!" She stamped her front paw once in agreement. Lily told her the plans, and she nodded her head while saying, "Alright, I'll go get her! Last ones there are ... uhm... well, they're the losers I guess!" Giggling, the tiny she-cat bounded off towards Zinnia's home. It was a bit further away, but still pretty close to her and Lily. Plus, she had to be careful to keep her balance and not lose her footing as her clumsy kitten paws often caused her to do. Thankfully, It only took her a minute or two to reach the garden Zinnia was usually in.
The Siamese took in a big breath of air before absolutely yowling, "Zinnia! You out here? Get out here! We're going on an adventure, just like dad does!" Did she wake the whole neighborhood? Probably! But, by now Bluebell was quivering with excitement. She was gonna see some wild cats and she was gonna eat some wild mice with her siblings! It would be absolutely perfect. Maybe she could climb a tree, or swim in a river, or... or... something super cool. No matter what happened it'd be super cool, because it would be an adventure! Bluebell glanced around the garden, her eyes darting around swiftly in anticipation. She just had to get to their mother's garden before Lily and Basil. After all, she and Zinna weren't losers! But, neither were Lily and Basil... oh well, better them than her! 248 words | Kaeldra Zesha | a bit shorter, but i love bluebell xD

It had been a lovely, quiet morning so far for Zinnia. Her owners had given her some tasty food and then had left for the day, as they did most days. She had stretched herself out on the back of the couch and stared lazily into the back yard, wondering what she was going to do today. If it hadn’t been for a loud noise, she might have even dozed off. Glancing towards the edge of the garden she saw her sister Bluebell. Zinnia’s ears perked up and she just managed to make out her sister’s yowling through the closed window: “Get out here! We’re going on an adventure, just like dad does!”
That got the black kitten up in a hurry. She bounded down from the back of the couch and scrambled to the back door, poking her head out of the cat flap. “Did I hear you right?” she called, hopping outside. The moment her paws hit the back porch she was sprinting over to the fence, gazing up at Bluebell. “We’re going on an adventure?”
It only took a quick look around the garden to see that her housefolk had left their ladder in the yard where they were trimming up a tree near the fence. Without hesitation, she climbed up the ladder and jumped the last tail-length-and-a-half to the top of the fence, digging her claws in to keep her balance. The idea of getting out of her garden for a bit sounded wonderful.

Bluebell nearly decided to yell out for Zinnia again when a black head popped through the flap of a door. "Did I hear you right?" She asked. Nodding furiously, Bluebell watched with excitement as her sister ran towards her, asking if they were indeed going on an adventure. "Yup! Now hurry up! We can't lose to Lily and Basil!" The tiny she-cat said as Zinnia climbed up a nearby ladder her housefolk must have left out. As soon as the black she-cat was in front of her, Bluebell took off in the direction towards her mother's home. Without looking behind her for fear of losing her balance (darn clumsy paws), she shouted, "We have to beat Lily and Basil! We have to get there first! It's a race." Just a few more minutes, and they would surely be there. Just so long as there were no bumps in the road... er, fence.
But of course, there was a bump in the fence. Well not really, Bluebell's just clumsy. Despite her careful steps, Bluebell tripped and fell into an adjacent garden within a few seconds of finishing her sentence.. The drop wasn't very long, but she still felt the wind rush out of her. After a moment or two, she leaped back up and called. "All good!" The she-cat rushed back to her place and started leading the way again, albeit a bit slower this time. She desperately hoped Zinnia wouldn't ask about it or mention it again. As if it wasn't embarrassing enough, she just had to fall in front of her big sister!

Zinnia could feel her paws tingle in excitement. Their father had told them not to leave their gardens alone, or at least to not go far from them, and she had begrudgingly listened to him out of love and respect. But now she was with her sister, and soon their other two siblings as well! They could go all sorts of places. Her ears perked up as her sister mentioned that this was a race against Lily and Basil, and she grinned as she purred, “They won’t get there before us!”
Today might not be such a boring day after all, she thought, working to quickly but accurately follow Bluebell along the top of the fence. Watching the squirrels do it made it look so much easier. All of a sudden she felt the fence wobble and saw her sister slip and land in some other garden. Zinnia winced as she steadied herself on the fence to keep from sharing the same fate. Before she could ask if Bluebell was okay, the Siamese leaped back onto the fence and said, “All good!” Well, if she says so.
Despite the incident, they didn’t slow much and it was around the fifth twoleg nest they passed that Zinnia spoke up again, “So where are we heading to? Are we going to try to find that river with the island in the middle that dad talked about? Or that place that he said was surrounded by brambles? Or that really tall tree that almost touches the sky?” Her mind was already painting pictures of all sorts of cool places to the point she zoned out and just came to barely half a tail length away from Bluebell. Maybe pay more attention so I don’t become the reason she falls off a second time…, she thought.

Bluebell continued her clumsy sprint across the fence tops. Zinnia eventually asked where they were going, exactly. Giggling, she kept her focus on her paws as she answered, "Well first, we're going to mama's garden to meet up with Basil and Lily. But Lily just said we're going to the forest. So, I guess we can all decide together!" The Siamese was gaining her footing again: becoming more controlled and precise with her movements. Running felt like a pattern, and it was certainly combating against her clumsy paws.
The Siamese finally saw the familiar roof of her mother's home. "Over there!" She called out to Zinnia as she changed directions towards the house. A few more tail lengths and Bluebell soared into her mom's garden, landing with a stumble but still upright. "Lily! Basil! Are you here? Did we win?" She called out, bouncing a bit on her paws in anticipation.

That all sounded like a perfectly good idea to Zinnia. Meet at mom’s, head to the forest, figure things out from there. Who knew what things they’d find?
Both kittens fell into a pattern as they balanced on the fence, passing garden after garden until Bluebell’s voice rang out again, “Over there!” It wasn’t long after that that Zinnia was staring down into their mother’s garden, a place they had known well the first few moons of life. The black kitten braced herself, then leaped down with her sister onto the soft, neatly kept grass.
(OOC: You're up, Kael! We'll figure out who got there first when you and Taxx finish your bit!)

Lily || Queen || 5 moons As Bluebell dashed off with a farewell of "Last ones there are ... uhm... well, they're the losers I guess!" Lily's eyes narrowed. So it was a race, was it? "You're on!" She called over her shoulder as she sprinted in the opposite direction, the fire under her paws sparking even hotter now that there was a competition involved. The little cat had to remind herself not to go too fast, otherwise she might go tumbling off the side of the fence and lose precious seconds.
It wasn't long before Basil's garden came into view, and she used a nearby bush to help her get down to ground level. Not bothering to check the garden, Lily poked her head through the flap in the door.
"Basil, are you awake? Come on, we're going on an adventure and we gotta leave right now!" she yowled into the den. She noticed the other cat her brother lived with now -- she couldn't remember their name -- give her a dazed look from the sofa where they had obviously been trying to nap. Maybe she'd been a little loud, but the excitement thrumming through her paws made it hard to feel guilty. She flashed her sibling's denmate a grin. She couldn't wait to get back to mama's garden and get moving! She knew it was still early, but it felt like they were losing precious daylight every second they spent among their familiar gardens rather than out exploring.

Basil had been enjoying the quiet company of one of his housefolk, stretched out beside the sleeping human and purring continuously. One of their arms was draped over his body and their warmth was making him drowsy... his body twitched at the call, head craning around toward the opening to the rest of the den, and a louder purr of amusement rumbled in his chest.
Carefully he backed out of the embrace, managing not to waken his housefolk as he slipped free, and with a hop he was off the bed and padding toward the den's entrance and the flap that let him in and out as he pleased. Lily's masked face peered in, and Anise was being equally lazy on the couch, her eyes blinking sleepily at Lily. With a squeak of acknowledgement, but not inclined to move just yet, she snuggled back down to resume her nap as Basil padded the last few tail-lengths.
"An adventure?" he asked as he paused. "All of us- Noctus and Dahlia too, or just you, me, Zinnia and Bluebell?" Basil Kittypet right here is where I want to be Kaeldra

Lily || Queen || 5 moons As her brother took his time padding over from the couch where he'd been taking a nap with his housefolk, Lily used the opportunity to squeeze the rest of her body through the cat flap. The other cat in the nest decided her nap was more important, but the little Siamese didn't mind. Maybe one day she'd get to know her and they'd go on adventures together, but for now she just wanted to spend time with her littermates. Basil inquired about whether their parents would be coming along as well and Lily shook her head.
"Nope, just us four," her eyes glittered at the thought. She knew their father probably wouldn't be impressed, but they were almost six moons old now! They couldn't be coddled forever. "We're gonna go into the forest, like dad does! And we have to be quick, or Bluebell and Zinnia are going to beat us to mama's garden!" She kneaded her paws impatiently.
Lily noticed her brother pause and worried for a heartbeat that he would refuse, and she would have to go back to meet Bluebell and Zinnia alone. It would be fun with just her sisters, of course, but the best memories were always made when all four of them were together. While they still visited each other often and played together like they used to, she missed the days when they all lived in the same nest and would discover each new thing together. Their first venture into the woods wouldn't be the same if one of them wasn't there.

In the privacy of his own mind, Basil thought that it sounded better to just stay and enjoy the quiet company of his housefolk and Anise- but he couldn’t say that to Lily. Turning down these offers had never been easy, and the few times he’d tried, the obvious disappointment always changed his mind. It was nice to know that he was important, rather than just tolerated as the odd brother out, and with a whisk of his tail he took another step toward the flap.
“Bluebell and Zinnia beat us? We can’t have that! Come on!” The heavy plastic rattled as he sprang through it, eyes screwed closed as he shoved it aside, and then he was out in the bright sun and the short grass, heading for the fence that enclosed the yard. Just like that, as if by appearing he’d drawn in his sister’s enthusiasm like it was the air he breathed, he was shedding the laziness that had taken over the house, charged with energy and ready to give his all toward keeping up with his three siblings.
“Whose idea was it to explore the forest?” he asked as he reached the fence and sprang upward to balance on the top, waiting for Lily to make the jump before springing to the ground on the other side. He’d never felt the urge to go there himself; it was dark and a bit spooky under the trees, and he’d heard plenty of horror stories about the creatures that lurked in the shadows among the trees. With the four of them, and especially bolstered by his sisters’ own confidence, he felt more willing to make the venture… and hoped it wouldn’t go badly.

Lily || Queen || 5 moons Lily's face immediately brightened when her brother agreed to the adventure, and she followed him eagerly through the cat flap and into the yard. Today would be perfect, she decided, the four of them heading out into the forest to learn all of its secrets. Now if only she could convince their father to teach her a couple of his fighting moves, she'd be that much closer to being like a warrior from his stories!
She leaped up to the fence to join Basil where he perched waiting for her, and then set off to lead the way to their mother's garden. At the question, Lily's chest puffed out a bit as they padded along.
"Mine, of course! It feels like we know this whole neighbourhood as well as our own nests, so I think it's time to explore some more! I want to try catching a mouse," she added, beginning her daydreaming again. Then she glanced at the sky, feeling like the sun had moved faster than expected. She shook her head, picking up the pace and flicking her tail to indicate to Basil that he should do the same. It wasn't long before the familiar nest came into view, and she felt the same rush of comfort that she always did when she saw the home she had grown up in.
The feeling was immediately replaced with a burning determination as she saw the pelts of Bluebell and Zinnia just ahead, and she pushed herself forward even faster. But they were too late, and Lily watched as Bluebell went flying into the garden and called out exuberantly to see if they were the first ones back. She launched herself down from the fence and landed with a slight stumble next to her sisters.
"Great stars, for a tiny cat you sure are fast! Beat us just by a whisker, too." Lily couldn't bring herself to be upset at the loss of their contest though; she was too excited to let it bother her. Now that they were all here, their adventure could begin.

Bluebell gave a little cheer of triumph upon seeing the pelts of her other siblings come into view. She and Zinnia had won despite her early falter on the fences. The victory, although considerably small in comparison to the adventure the group would now face, filled her with confidence. The journey would be fun and amazing and incredible. She just knew it!
The small she-cat purred after hearing Lily's comment. It was true, she was rather small, but that never stopped her. She didn't ponder it much longer, because the she-cat's eyes quickly spotted her brother and it immediately distracted her. We're all here, she thought happily. Now we can go be real Forest Cats!
"Alright!" She said happily, her paws prodding the grass in anticipation. "I'm ready, Lily! Can we go now? Please?" Bluebell had never been the most patient cat, and by now the excitement was overwhelming. It was her time to tackle the world full force with her siblings!
