Shellspots || Queen || 36 moons The days were only getting colder, the frosty air biting at exposed paws and noses. As she picked her way through the trees, however, Shellspots' determination flared hotter than ever. Now that her children were well past the bumbling kit stage and quickly becoming ready for training, she was desperate to find them suitable mentors. And that meant finding potential Clan mates. Of course, she could train them both herself, as her mother had done for her... But if she went that route, she would have to devote so much time and energy to training the two of them that it would likely delay her plans of rebuilding the Clans for many more moons.
So here she was, searching through the woods for others she might convince to join her. If she managed to catch a mouse or two in the process, well, that would be all the better. The silver tabby doubted it though, in this weather. She could smell snow on the way, and was glad her kits were back in their den, curled safely into the warm nest of moss and feathers they had built. It made her shudder to imagine what it would be like to lose them in a snowstorm.
As she rounded a particularly large beech trunk, Shellspots paused in surprise. A few tail-lengths ahead, with their back to her, was another cat. Their sleek grey head was bent, as if they were inspecting the grass in front of them. Shellspots blinked. That was easier than anticipated. Now she just had to hope that they would be friendly enough to persuade into listening to her story.
"Hello, there," she called softly, careful not to be too loud. She didn't want to startle them. The tabby padded to the side so she wasn't creeping up directly behind the stranger, and as she did so she thought this cat seemed vaguely familiar. You've probably just seen them in passing, she thought to herself. "I apologize for interrupting if you're busy. Do you have a moment?"

@gala Another thread for you! <3 I went with the idea we talked about with them having met briefly once before, though at this point Shellspots has no idea they know each other yet xD

Her paws were cold and so was her nose; but that didn't stop her from burying her nose back into a pile of weeds growing out of the ground sniffing at them. Miku had woken up early that morning to search for the last herb that she'd been missing from her bundle in this area. She'd walked for a few hours before she'd spotted the stalk with the pale brown/yellow bulb sticking out of the bundle of weeds up on the path ahead. She had urged her tired and frozen paws to walk faster until her cold; just as frozen nose, was digging through the weeds to find the stem. Her teeth happily clamped around the stem of the stalk and she carefully pulled; thoughtfully keeping the roots in the ground to that it may continue to grow.
Her head swiveled when she heard the sound of someone calling out for her and her green eyes traveled through the area until they fell in a silver tabby coming her way. She blinked a second before the other feline's words reached her ears and brain Oh! She was talking to Miku! For a second the grey molly didn't realize that her presence was actually...well, seen by others a lot of the time she was the one who had to introduce herself.
Looking over at the silver tabby Miku couldn't help the feeling of de-ja-vu hitting her but she didn't know why. Something about the other's presence; not just her appearance seemed familiar. Miku didn't meet many others but there are always a selected few that caught her attention that she stored away like the knowledge of herbs she had stored away.
Realizing that she had yet to answer the other, Miku quickly put the stalk with it's rattle snake like fuzzy bulb that she'd just picked by the bundle of herbs she had been carrying with her and began to undo the bundle. The bundle itself was filled with dug up roots, some weed looking stalks, dried flowers, and pieces of moss and other things bundled together. As she organized the stalk she had just picked into the bundle and began closing it she began to speak.
"Hi! sorry, I hadn't heard you come up. I finally managed to find this Sweet -Sedge you see! It was the last thing I needed for my stash...." her green eyes lifted up to meet the others orbs and looked at her curiously; still not being able to shake the feeling that she knew the other. A memory wanting to surface that held a familiar face that she knew would hurt to think about.
Forcing a small smile Miku sat up and gave the other her full attention. "Anyways um, I do have a moment, what can I do for you?" she wondered if the other was from around here or if she perhaps heard about Miku through others and come in search for her? Miku had come to find out that it's not a usual thing to have cats carry bundles of weeds and plants wrapped in a leaf around with them 24/7

Shellspots || Queen || 36 moons Shellspots smiled in amusement as the cat in front of her — a she-cat, she could tell now — twisted her head around to blink at Shellspots with owlish eyes. Then she seemed to realize where she was and came back to herself, returning the silver tabby’s greeting easily. Well, at least she was friendly. A second win today. And she knew about herbs, Shellspots noted with interest as she watched the other carefully tuck the plant she’d just plucked into a secure bundle at her paws. That would be doubly useful, and Shellspots knew instantly that she wanted to win this she-cat over.
“Thank you,” she started, not wanting to seem impolite right off the bat. “My name is Shellspots, it’s nice to meet you. I’m not sure if you’ve heard much of the stories around here about ancient Clans that used to walk these forests, but I’m currently trying to rebuild one of them, in hopes that all four will return.” She hoped she wasn’t being too direct in getting to the point so quickly. “I’m looking for cats to join me and help with building a strong Clan, and I think you’d be a great fit. Once we’re more established, we’ll be able to offer you protection in numbers, and if you like you’d be able to work with plants like those,” she added, hoping to catch the she-cat’s interest by mentioning a special position for her. As she looked at the herbs, the thought niggled in the back of her mind again that she knew this cat.
“Also, if you don’t mind me asking… Were you once travelling with another cat, who also knew about plants?” Perhaps if her hunch was right, it would give her offer a bit more weight. She would be an old friend offering her alliance, rather than a complete stranger. If it was wrong, well, she’d just keep trying.

The solid gray molly's actions; scatteredbrained as they were, did not deter the other from approaching and speaking with her. Happy to find the other was not hostile and seemed friendly enough was a good start to their interactions. The tabby's voice drew Miku's attention to the stranger as she got straight to the point. Group of cat's called clans, returning them to the forests, and an invitation to join this Shellspots? Granted, even without a bribe of protection or freedom to continue her research Miku's interest was already caught. She'd heard about clans before but they were just stories that she'd heard that went in one ear and out the other. This she-cat seemed to know a lot about what she was talking about; or at least talked a big talk about it. The loner was not sure about the whole Clan stuff; she'd only heard short and few in between stories from when she was younger at best and didn't put much stalk to the tales. But, this feline in front of her seemed very eager to start one or 'bring them back' as she mentioned. Was this someone who was a descendant of someone who once came from said clans or was she just a fanatic that had a thing for the stories and wanted them to come to life? Miku's gaze studied the other; an obvious expression in her face showed she was in deep thought over the other's words.
It was not until the last part reached her ears and broke her initial train of thought that she snapped back to attention. A look of alertness and maybe a bit of wary panic crept into her gaze. Had she traveled with another like herself when she was younger? How'd this cat know? Wild guess? Miku figured it had to be since herbalists weren't very common around these parts. Anyone can talk about anything and more than just one herbalis feline in the forest would get the tongues waggling. But it had been so long ago...no one would have known Miku when she was that young to talk about her and...them.
Her jaw tightened slightly as she raised her chin defensively as she stared at the other. She did not want to seem rude; but could she trust this she-cat? It couldn't be a coincidence that this Shellspots asked such a question and she needed to know why...or more of how she'd know Miku had a mentor when she was younger. Eyes still wary she opened her mouth to speak with careful words that were unlike her. She normally was okay with letting slip she once had a companion..in her weaker moments after a longer journey and a tired mind. But she was not tired...and she could think clearly. Clear enough to know the topic of her mentor was a rather sensitive one. But she needed answers.
"If it is any of your business...As a matter of fact yes...but that was a long time ago...they um...they no longer stay in my company. They left unexpectedly." she replied to the other. "Why do you want to know?..." she questioned with eyes narrowed slightly wondering what the other had to gain of knowing about her past.

Shellspots || Queen || 36 moons The grey she-cat seemed interested, at least, if not wholly believing of Shellspots' tale. She was clearly wondering whether it would be wise to take her up on the offer, and Shellspots bit back the urge to reassure her and list more benefits of joining a Clan. It would be better to let this she-cat decide on her own, rather than seeming desperate to gain her ally-ship.
Then the grey cat's expression suddenly grew cold and she stared defiantly at Shellspots in response to her last question, her voice low as she spoke.
Mouse dung, I've offended her somehow, Shellspots thought in frustration, though she kept her outward demeanour light. She could sense an undercurrent of pain in the grey she-cat's words, and wondered if she had been left behind unwillingly. If they were both talking about the same cat -- which Shellspots admitted to herself was unlikely, but she supposed stranger things had happened -- that seemed unlikely. The cat she remembered was very kind, always willing to help others when needed. Though that was a long time ago, she mused wistfully, that she had run into them the first time.
It had been seasons ago, before she met Comet and had her kits. Shellspots hadn't been watching where she was going, tumbling right into an old rabbit warren and spraining her paw spectacularly. She had limped around halfheartedly for a day or so in search of prey, then finally gave up and found a spot at the base of a tree to wait until she felt better. Next thing she knew, she was opening her eyes to meet the gaze of a grey-furred she-cat, much like the one she was talking to now, claiming she'd be back right away with someone who could help. True to her word, she'd returned with another older cat in tow who carried a bundle of leaves in their jaws. They immediately set to work treating her paw, and stayed with her as she recovered. Once she was fit to travel again, she thanked them profusely and set off on her journey once more.
And now, if her hunch was right, they had met once again. Fascinating.
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to pry into your personal life," she said diplomatically. "I just thought I remembered meeting you and that other cat many moons ago, when I injured myself. If they were still travelling with you, I wanted to thank you both again. Without your help, I probably would have been stuck there a lot longer." Shellspots sighed, wondering if she was remembering things entirely wrong. She didn't think she was that old yet, but... "Or perhaps I'm mistaking you for someone else. My apologies." She bowed her head, hoping she hadn't offended the she-cat too horribly.

[googlefont="Poiret One"] Miku's aquatic eyes narrowed ever so slightly as she tried to calculate the other she-cats motives. At first the grey molly through the tabby was just a friendly stranger. But as soon as Shellspots had spoken her question about Miku's past into the air between them it shifted the gray loner's perspective. She normally was not a hostile creature; more inquisitive than anything else and sometimes didn't pick up ques when it came to social interactions. She was often awkward when interacting with others outside of a professional bubble. But if there was anything Miku was sure of when it came to herself was that she didn't handle others poking and prodding at her past. It was all fine and dandy with that loner from the old abandoned barn she'd met a little while back; Miku knew that the other had a certain way about her that gave off an air of nosiness. This Shellspots was nothing like the sneaky and intrusive calico that Miku had met days before.
With heart thudding in her chest despite her cold exterior Miku's gaze broke from the other's. Shellspots may have meant nothing by her question. But in Miku's mind, it wasn't just by chance that she'd met this odd feline who seemed to know; or think she knew about Miku's past. Shellspots knew nothing of her past...Or did she? Perhaps, Shellspots remembered memories that Miku herself tried to push down so that her heart would be more at ease and less burdened by her guilt. Taking a deep breath though she straightened her shoulders and turned her attention back to the tabby and tried to change her expression to hide the hurt that could not be hidden in her eyes as she spoke in answer.
"I suppose when you travel alone for so long it's more likely you will remember others if they are in pairs or larger groups." she agreed before looking away and scanned the area behind Shellspots as if seeking the face of another.
"I did travel with a companion when I was little. We didn't often come across injured felines along our path. We normally tended to keep to ourselves with our research and or helping other creatures like squirrels and such if stumbled across them...It was awhile ago though so..." she trailed off thinking of that withered and scared face of her mentor that never ceased to give her the feeling of....home. 'home' such a silly word that held a ache in her heart just as much as that word attached to the face that created it.
"It wouldn't be a surprise if we had stumbled across you one day. What did you say your name was again? Shellspots was it?" Miku's orbs focused on the other's face. Even when her eyes focused on her Miku's aquatic green blue eyes held a cloudy fog in them as if the light was dimmed in them.
"It rings a bell. I remember a younger cat that reminded me of that name. She'd twisted her ankle if I remember correctly and had a hard time walking. I remember because back then I couldn't help but think her fur was so beautiful; unlike mine that was a plain solid color. I was naive and not much self esteem back then." Miku gave a small half-hearted huff. Her head snapped back slightly and her eyes cleared as she did the same to her throat and fully looked at the other. Back in the present instead of looking into the past.
"But, that's not what you wanted to talk about. I have heard stories here and there about clans that once lived long long ago...Why are you trying to revive them? That is your goal is it not? I know it might seem like fun and dandy idea but do you believe the cats in these forests will be willing to bend together? Strangers among strangers to work together even without knowing each other? That's a hard mouse bone to swallow you know." she commented with a small frown.
Miku wasn't saying 'no' to helping this she-cat but she was curious to know her motives. Why would a loner like herself want to bend together with others in hopes to live in forests? The talk and history of clans were long past. Why was Shellspots so devoted to this cause? " I am many things. A herbalist, a teacher, a researcher; saver of lives I am not. It takes someone special to have that power. I never believe in myself to be one of them." ~Miku Kaeldra Oh no I'd love to keep this thread going!

Shellspots || Queen || 36 moons Shellspots' heart broke a little at the pained expression on the she-cat's face; the past was obviously not easy to talk about. She never did elaborate what had happened to her companion, but Shellspots could guess that it was nothing good. She was a bit shocked at the mention of even stopping to help squirrels -- Shellspots herself would have simply thanked her lucky stars for the easy prey and moved on -- but she supposed healers were a different sort entirely. Exactly the type of cat that would benefit a growing Clan, establishing borders and likely making enemies as they did so. As long as she could ensure the loyalty of said cat.
The grey she-cat asked for clarification of her name again, and Shellspots nodded when she remembered correctly. She supposed it wasn't a terribly common name, all things considered. Shellspots wanted to ask for her name as well -- she couldn't remember from so long ago, and she hadn't introduced herself today -- but she seemed to be remembering and she didn't want to interrupt.
"Yes, I ran into a rabbit's den and completely twisted my paw," she confirmed, pleased she had been right after all. "I was so young and foolish then, hardly looking where I walked." She smiled in exasperation at her younger self. "Your coat is beautiful. I know plenty of cats that would give their finest prey to have fur as lovely as yours," she added, hearing that she had battled with low self-esteem. The grey she-cat seemed to be past that now, but compliments never hurt.
Then she seemed to shake herself of the memories, and Shellspots was not surprised at her next question.
"You are right to ask. It must seem strange to you that I would want such a thing. The truth is, my mother and I set out on this mission many moons ago, when I was barely done growing. Long ago, my family's ancestors used to belong to such a Clan, and we wanted to honour their memory by living as a Clan once more." Shellspots deflated a little as she thought of her mother's untimely end. "My mother has joined our ancestors now, so it is up to me to make her dream come true. I owe her that much."
Shellspots paused, debating whether she should let the she-cat know she also had young kits living nearby. She didn't make it a habit of telling others about them, wanting to keep them safe as long as she could, but she supposed if there was a cat that wouldn't harm helpless kits it would be this one. And perhaps sharing her vulnerability would appeal to the she-cat's caring nature.
"I also have two kits, just five moons old. I'd like them to have the protection and safety a Clan would offer. I'm not getting any younger, unfortunately, and won't be able to look after them forever. If I can ensure their happiness, and their kits' happiness after that, I will consider it a success."

[googlefont="Poiret One"] She briefly wondered as she stared idly at the other she-cat what it would be like if she said yes. She'd sat there for a good minute listening to her speak of her family and her dreams of starting the clans up. Ignoring the last part of the instinctual desire to compliment the lanky grey she-cat. Miku's feelings about her own self image was not what was important here and frankly; not something that she paid much attention to anymore. She wasn't a feline that cared for image anymore. Such things were stupid compared to the grander scheme of life. Stuff like that mattered little to her after everything she'd been through; even the thought of having a mate or kits of her own someday. That thought had drowned and disappeared with the wind much like the image of her mentor fading from the earth's existence. Still, even if a family and having a dream of her own was not something she herself could have to live for didn't mean that her life had no meaning. She could say yes to this stranger; was she a stranger though? She acted as if they could be friends. But was it a true intention or was it merely a ploy to have Miku on her side? That thought made the grey she-cat laugh internally. Yeah right, as if Miku would be sought out to help destroy or control the world.
Taking a breath once the other finished speaking, Miku held it for a good few seconds until her lungs yelled at her and she exhaled rapidly. It was clear in her face that she was thinking seriously on her words. Granted, Miku didn't like to think herself as a push over so the fact that she now knew that Shellspots had kits of her own to protect that she was trying to watch out for gave Miku that nudge that she didn't like. Trying to win her over by saying she had kits of her own she was trying to protect was a low blow but the healer didn't think that she meant it the way that she presented it in her own head. There was another nagging in the grey molly's head though...She was tired of wandering the big world alone. Her paws were tired but her soul was too. She wanted to settle down, have a home of her own and not have to worry about where food would come or if she'd be driven crazy by her loneliness and her dark worries that plagued her.
"Alright, I will agree to come along with you Shellspots. Not because of the fact you have kits or that it was your mother's dream to see the clans reborn. In all truth, I'm tired of wandering this world alone. I'm tired of being a lone. I know that if I continue this path I will be a grumpy and cranky old cat in a young cat's body." Miku looked away from her and down at the bundles.
"He would have liked you I think. He was always talking about the clans as well, partly where he learned his knowledge." she looked back at Shellspots seriously. "His name was Badger. The older cat you remembered me with all those moons ago...his name was Badger. The only family I ever knew. He was a crazy and cranky old fool but he meant more to me than anything in this world." she forced a smile and ignored the fact that Shellspot's image was blurred by the mist in her eyes that threatened to fall and soak into the fur of her face.
"So I'll help you rebuild the clans. As much as I can at least...but not for you...or your family..heck not even for me...I'm going to do it for him just like you seek to do so for your mother." she swallowed the rock in her throat and straightened herself up.
"Where do you want to start?" she asked. " I am many things. A herbalist, a teacher, a researcher; saver of lives I am not. It takes someone special to have that power. I never believe in myself to be one of them." ~Miku Kaeldra, cute and sad moment

Shellspots || Queen || 36 moons Shellspots waited with anticipation, nearly wanting to leap out of her fur while the grey she-cat mulled over her words. It was clear she was taking the matter very seriously, and Shellspots was grateful she hadn’t laughed her away like some other cats might have. Then something seemed to give way, and the she-cat met her gaze evenly before speaking.
Shellspots held herself utterly still as the she-cat agreed, though she wanted to hop about in joy like a kit. She had finally found her first Clanmate! It had taken far longer than she had ever expected -- it had been nearly eight seasons since she and her mother first set out together -- but the day had come at last. And this would be just the beginning; with another cat by her side who was not related to her by blood, her cause would seem more credible to others, and she expected more would join their ranks before long. She wondered if perhaps this was by StarClan’s design, if she had been meant to find this cat first.
Then the she-cat mentioned her old mentor and his knowledge of the Clans, and Shellspots knew that this must be true. StarClan had guided her paws to this cat who had healing knowledge from the Clans themselves passed down to her, and together they would fulfill that long-held dream. She bowed her head in gratitude.
“Thank you,” she said, her voice low with emotion. “It must be StarClan’s will that we’ve found each other.” Shellspots looked up once more to see the she-cat’s eyes growing watery, as if fighting back tears. She was glad that this cat had her own reasons for joining her, that she wasn’t simply swayed by Shellspots’ compelling tale. With her own source of motivation, she was much more likely to stay with the Clan, rather than simply leaving when her sympathy wore thin.
“For Badger, then. And for Ripple; my mother. For them we will make RiverClan strong again.”
The two stared at each other for a half-dozen heartbeats. Then the charged moment was over, and it was time to get to business. They had a lot to do.
Shellspots hummed. “First, we’ll need a suitable camp. I’ve got a den closer to the river where I’ve been raising my kits, but it’s not big enough for a Clan. There are a few islands not far from here that are promising, though.” She imagined the scene from her dream so many moons ago, cats she trusted all bustling about a camp as they did their tasks. “And we’ll need more Clan members, of course. If you know any cats that might be interested, I’d love to meet them.”
This cat would need a proper Clan name too, but that could come later, when there was enough of a Clan to witness her naming ceremony. Besides, Shellspots wasn’t sure she could remember all of the words, her own name having been given so long ago and by her mother rather than a true Clan leader. Yes, it was better to wait. In the meantime...
“Also, my apologies for forgetting, but what is your name again?”

[googlefont="Poiret One"] Starclan hmm? Did Miku believe in Starclan? She liked to think that there was a place to go to after death. Some sort of afterlife; if only to make her heart feel less heavy at the thought of Badger disappearing into a void of nothingness upon death. A part of her wanted to believe that she had ancestors looking down at her. That Badger was up there in the sky watching her and maybe grumbling under his breath at her stupid choices and irrational heart like he often had in a grumpy father or grandfatherly way. Shellspots had such faith in her ancestors that Miku was hesitate to follow suit in. She was a logical thinker but with a heart that reached out for anything that would give her peace even if her mind said something entirely different. She wanted to belong somewhere and she wanted to live a life that gave her a purpose. Would following this feline and letting her words affect Miku change that for the better for her or for the worse when it came to the healer's future. She wanted it desperately to be true because her heart was tired despite her head telling her she still could go much further. Agreeing to the tabby's request to help her make her dream come true wasn't something Miku often agreed to upon first meeting of strangers but...They had a past; flimsy and brief as it was. Miku still had once upon helped this she-cat out so what stopped her from reaching out to her again to mend her heart instead of a paw this time?
Blinking back into focus her ears caught the last bit of her statement about the land in which they could make camp and the grey molly frowned thoughtfully as she tried to think if she had come across a area that a camp and territory could be claimed for the clan that they would be building together. She gave a thoughtful hum as she spoke carefully. "I have traveled long ways; but if we go in that direction there is a gentle slope that leads straight to the river and in said river there are ways to be able to get to some islands in the river. Perhaps those are big enough to make a clan camp? Is that the island you speak of? It's harder to come by during the rainy season because of the water level rising but it shouldn't be too difficult to make some sort of bridge to cross between the bank and the islands if you chose to make the clan there. I haven't checked it out myself; just stood on the bank to see as far as my eyes could so I could be wrong about the stability and size of the island." she shrugged as she looked in the direction in which she described the island with a thoughtful look.
"I do not mind going to check it out with you if you'd like. I assume you are very eager to start some sort of stability within the clan so finding the right camp site and possible territory would be best to start off with or else there will be lesser chances of others wanting to join if we do not have a safe and capable landmark to call home." she shrugged looking a bit sheepish.
"I maybe a healer and a researcher but that does not mean that I do not know my way around things...I have lived a long life which feels like a life time in my short 28 moons of life; happens when you are forced to grow up before your time." she did not have a stable family, her only family had been Badger and he was not blood related to her; a complete stranger who took pity on her and later grew to grudgingly love the daylights out of her curious and kind soul.
Miku frowned a moment when Shellspots spoke her next question and it took her aback for a second. Had Miku not introduced herself at all? That was rude of her but at the same time she guessed there wasn't much room to self introduction. She figured though, her name would need to be changed once the clan was settled; Miku was such a short unusual name but it was the only name she had. What else would she call herself when clan life took her over?
"Miku. My name is Miku. Although, if I am to help build and join the clan that you are fighting for so badly...I suppose a new name should be assigned to me? A new name for a new life and a new beginning; seems fitting don't you think? But, I'm not very good with names and since I don't know much about clans unlike you. You know much more than myself even if we both grew up with stories about such groups...I wouldn't know what to call myself. Perhaps, if you are wanting to start this clan you will befit me a new name?" she raised a brow at her with a curious look.
Miku was all in for this new start and she was giving Shellspots the honor of her trust and thus allowing the silver tabby to give her a new name for the new life that Miku was willingly promising to build with the other she-cat. It seems only fitting in her eyes that Shellspots have the honor to assign a new title and name to her. " I am many things. A herbalist, a teacher, a researcher; saver of lives I am not. It takes someone special to have that power. I never believe in myself to be one of them." ~Miku Kaeldra.By the way, Her clan name I'd like to be Minnowstream

Shellspots || Queen || 36 moons
Shellspots nodded as Miku described the islands she had seen as well. So she hadn’t been alone in thinking one of those would be a safe choice for a camp. Excellent.
“Yes, that’s exactly what I was thinking. An island surrounded by water would be easy to defend, as well, considering most cats don’t like getting their paws wet.” She wasn’t particularly keen on it herself still, truth be told, but if they were to be RiverClan she would have to get used to it. “Perhaps we could even swim across, rather than trying to find some sort of bridge. Though we might need one to get my kits to the camp,” Shellspots mused, trying and failing to imagine Heronkit and Minnowkit swimming through the river to the hypothetical island they spoke of.
Miku hit the nail on the head when it came to why Shellspots wanted to establish the camp so quickly. They needed to present a strong front to any potential Clan members in order to stand a chance of winning them over. Cats would be looking for protection and stability, so that’s what they had to offer.
“Thank you, that would be lovely,” Shellspots said in response to the offer to help scope out the islands. It would be good to get some input, instead of having to do it all alone. “Do you have anything you need to take care of? If not, we could go today.” She didn’t want to infringe on any previous plans the she-cat might have made, but with the scent of snow in the air she didn’t want to delay any more than necessary.
The spotted she-cat smiled warmly as Miku spoke of their new beginning -- and a new name to go along with it. It surprised her a little, how committed this she-cat already was to her cause, but it only strengthened her belief that her paws were on the right path. Why else would StarClan lead her to such a cat?
“Miku. That’s a lovely name.” She met Miku’s gaze evenly, wishing she could fulfill this sweet she-cat’s request. But it wasn’t time. “And as much as I would like to give you a true Clan name, that is something that must be done by the leader of RiverClan, whoever they end up being. Of course I hope that StarClan will choose me, as they have guided my paws this far, but until they do I would not want to simply assume.” Then Shellspots’ look turned playful. “Plus, a Clan name should reflect your personality. I wouldn’t want to be too hasty and end up giving you an ill-fitting name. Better to think about it a while first, no?” She grinned.
She hoped that Miku wouldn’t see this as a rejection of her as a Clan member. Shellspots simply wasn’t ready to perform such a ceremony before being recognized by StarClan as the true leader of RiverClan. She was confident it would happen; who else knew so much about the Clans, was descended from them as she was? The spotted she-cat felt it was her destiny. But she would respect the will of StarClan, and if a cat came along that was better suited to the task, she would relinquish the position to them... probably.

@gala Shellspots, so ambitious xD I was thinking we could maybe start wrapping up here unless you have other plans for this thread? I was thinking if Miku agrees to go check out the islands today, we could close off with them leaving to do that and then imply they eventually found a suitable camp c:

[googlefont="Poiret One"] Miku was happy to see that she'd at least said something right. She didn't understand why Shellspots chose her out of all the other cats she must have come across to start building up this clan of her dreams. A second in command or what was it that they called it? Deputy, that's right. She was no deputy. From what Badger had mentioned previously about clans when she was younger a deputy was pretty much like an advisor for the leader of said clan. A medicine cat was the healer; something that Miku was. She was no deputy but she supposed that Shellspots had to start somewhere in the end and Miku was rather maticulous when she needed to be so she could pride herself in that much. Her green blue eyes lifted away from the landmarks she'd been scanning to turn her attention back to the other female; having relaxed herself after thier brief shared moment and allowed herself to be a bit more friendly and open with the other.
"I think a bridge would be a good idea. At least a temporary one that cats can easily cross but not other animals that are heavier in weight like badgers and foxes and such." she advised. Heavens knew she wouldn't look forward to crossing the river water without a bridge; not many cats were that willing but they did have to start somewhere. A hum left Miku's mouth as she gave a small lopsided grin and shook her head to her question; Miku never really had anything to do besides wander and get her bearings. Having an actual task to do was a good break in her dull routine.
"I don't have anything to do. I'm all for going to check it out. Although, hunting would probably be a good thing before we get too busy." she added as her words were interrupted with the rather loud rumbling of her stomach. She flushed but let out a laugh anyways. She didn't remember the last time she'd eaten that day as she'd been too busy in her own little world.
Shellspot's reply to the idea of giving Miku a clan name didn't bother the gray molly at all. In fact, it made more sense then Miku's request. What was she thinking to even consider it without an actual establishment? They were barely just getting things set together; they didn't have a camp let alone more than two members right now. There was no reason for Miku to be given a name right now not to mention the morality of it all. Shellspots wanted it to be a traditional clan meaning someone as a leader chosen by her ancestors should do the ceremony to give her a name befitting her and her clan. Miku understood that. She wasn't one who really made a big deal out of something so she merely gave a smile and nodded with understanding on her face.
"Yeah, I get that! No worries at all. Now then, you said you had two kits with you? Why don't we go check up on them and make sure they are okay before it gets too dark; we can take them with us if you'd like to check out that island. Or we can do that tomorrow if you think the light will allow us?" she looked up at the sky and checked the position of the sun in the sky. Her jaws parted slightly to check the weather. Was it going to rain? Hmmm. Turning her attention back to Shellspots she snatched up her bundle of herbs she'd been stocking up on that day and tipped her head.
"Lets check on those kits first. The camp's location can wait another day." she suggested. She did not know where this journey would lead them. Whether the clan would be a success or not; if not well at least they made friends and had an adventure. Her gaze turned towards the skys briefly as she began leading the way in the direction she'd seen Shellspots come from as she thought. She hoped for Shellspots sake that this adventure was not for nothing. " I am many things. A herbalist, a teacher, a researcher; saver of lives I am not. It takes someone special to have that power. I never believe in myself to be one of them." ~Miku Kaeldra And...fin! Official start to Riverclan
