Name: Violet
Desired Name: Violeteyes
Allegiance: Solitary
Rank: N/A
Age: 61 moons
Birth Moon: Feather Moon 2016
Sex: Queen
Appearance: Violet is a regal-looking she-cat with medium-length, pale orange fur and startlingly blue eyes. On most of her body, her fur is pale enough to appear almost white, fading into a slightly darker shade of orange at her ears and tail and spreading across her face like a blush. Violet's eyes, set into a dainty face, are so blue as to appear almost unnatural, mimicking the deepest blue of a clear day's skies. Although averagely proportioned, Violet's longer hair can make her seem to have somewhat small limbs in comparison to her body, but her long, feather-like tail balances out the illusion, accentuating her natural feline grace.
Personality: Sometimes Violet wonders who she was before she became a mother; so much of who she sees herself as is wrapped up in her kits and the ends she will go to in order to care for them. But in fact, the relationships she fosters with her kits (and with her mate, Jay) owe much of their success to Violet's kindness and friendly demeanor. Violet makes friends without realizing it, always subconsciously looking for the best way to make a connection, the best way to present herself, the best way to choose peace over violence. The one exception to this rule, however, is Violet's stubborn streak. Sure, if she hasn't given much thought to something she could be swayed one way or the other, but once she's made a decision, that decision is final.
History: Growing up as a kittypet, Violet had very little memory of her family. Sometimes she can conjure vague memories of warmth and soft purrs, but with time she has come to believe these to be more wishful thinking than any true memories.
In spite of not remembering any parents or siblings, Violet grew up with almost constant company. Her housefolk regularly brought in injured cats from the neighborhood and nearby forest, and a steady stream of cats moved in and out of the house. One of those cats—Jay, a prideful tom that scorned the care Violet's housefolk tried to offer him—eventually became her mate. Their relationship got off to a rocky start, however; Jay's attitude towards Violet's lifestyle and Violet's own stubborn streak led them to many a fight in their early days. Still, Violet's stubbornness paid off; while Jay continued refusing the "Twoleg slop", as he called it, Violet went out hunting, bringing him fresh-kill from the nearby gardens. Gradually, the two of them met in the middle, Jay opening up and telling Violet stories from all his travels over his many moons and Violet allowing Jay to teach her how to improve her hunting skills. Silent hostility turned to grudging respect turned to love.
Violet and Jay's first litter should have been the culmination of their love story, but instead Violet's pregnancy saw them turned out of their home. They took to the forest for refuge, where Violet gave birth to Flare, a curious tom with fur the color of fire. Violet watched as her kit grew into a capable young cat, a skilled hunter in his own right, and eventually a bit of an idealist, with all the stories of the old Clans stuffed into his head.
Now, with a second litter to care for, Violet's maternal focus has shifted from her eldest to the newest bunch: Gale, Spider, and Melody. With her family growing (and her kits becoming more and more unruly), Violet is starting to wonder if Flare's dreams of reviving the Clan traditions might be the best way to protect and care for her growing family.
