Personality
General: Rosemont is a cheerful cat, often seen with a smile on her face. Though there’s not much reason for her not to, seeing as she’s lived a very privileged life, with twoleg that treats her well and a twoleg nest over her head. Despite this, she is curious about the outside world and everything in it. She wants to be out there, in the dirt, climbing trees, looking over the horizon. This cat wants to see it all! Though she’s a little dramatic and may play things up to be more of a deal than they actually are, so beware of what she tells you.
Ambition runs through this furball, wanting to get the things she reaches for. And she’s determined, too. Once she sets her mind on it, she’s going to keep at it until she either is forced to give up or until she actually gets it. Despite this, she seems very breezy, as if relaxed at all times. She speaks informally to everyone (except maybe her mother) and is generally cheerily brisk in her manner of speech. There have definitely been cats that don’t like this about her, thinking her being rude to her elders, but she’s blissfully unaware.
This cat is arrogant for someone so young. Her exaggerated self-importance can be a bit off-putting to others, and she certainly thinks she’s more capable than she actually is. She’s also very careless, so it’s not unheard of for her to trip over her own paws and hurt herself. And when she does, she’s childish, crying as if the whole world were ending. She often has to be soothed by someone else when this happens, but if not she’ll just cry until she wears herself out. Her name possibly should have been “Princess” instead of Rosemont, but this is what was chosen.

History
Rosemont was born to two show cats, Primrose and Pierre, along with three other siblings. She was the smallest of her litter, and while she was never picked on by her siblings, she was doted on by her mother quite frequently. Primrose was concerned about how small Rose was, and it caused her to fuss over the child more than the other three. Thankfully none of them seemed to resent this, and they all got plenty of attention from their father Pierre, who loved them all equally. Rose liked the attention she got from her mother, though, and may have sometimes gotten hurt on purpose.
Each of Primrose’s kittens was bathed each hour until they were old enough to do it themselves, and even after Rose was capable of doing it herself her mother still insisted on doing it. This did cause Rose to be a little resentful of her mother, since she felt she could do it on her own, but she figured that once she got a twoleg of her own then her mother would stop fretting so much. Her parents told them lots of stories of the show ring, and how they would all likely end up in homes that took them there.
Rose wasn’t sure if that was what she wanted, though. Unlike her siblings, she spent a lot of time looking out the window and daydreaming of being outside. Her parents scoffed at this, of course. How could their daughter want to get her precious paws dirty? Outside, what a laugh. The older she got, the more she felt that she wasn’t like her parents or siblings at all. She hoped that wherever she ended up they’d allow her to experience this wonderful place called outside, even though her parents seemed so vehemently against it.
Eventually, Rose was adopted by a twoleg. Her owner, Claire, didn’t plan on making a show cat out of her, much to Rose’s relief. She did spend a lot of money on toys, cat trees, pet beds, and any number of things to make Rose happy, though. At first she was content with all the new, shiny things she had acquired, and one might have thought that she would settle down and be a nice, indoor cat. But then a month passed, and she was bored of everything. Again she took to looking out the window, longing to be outside.
Claire realized how much time Rose spent looking outside and decided to get her a collar. Once she did, she let the little one out into the backyard to look around. It was amazing! The grass beneath her feet, the wind in her fur, the buzzing of bees, the fluttering of butterflies! For the first few times, these adventures were supervised, but once Claire was sure that Rose was safe in the backyard she installed a cat door so that Rose could come and go as she pleased. This made Rose very happy, and she spent much of her time in the outside world.
Even though she didn’t see eye to eye with her family when it came to the outside, she still missed them. Her owner grew a strange plant—known as Lamb’s Ear to twolegs—that was a soft, fuzzy plant that almost felt like fur. Whenever she missed her family too much, she’d rub against it and imagine the scent of her mother and father, and her littermates. It brings her much needed comfort, though she doesn’t think Clair likes her in the flowerbed. To keep her twoleg happy she makes sure to get all the dirt off her before she goes back into the nest.
Now she’s growing bored with her garden, though, and has decided she wants to see what’s beyond the fence. There’s a small hole in the fence on one corner, and she plans to use it to sneak out and meet some new cats and see the sights.
