Welcome to Info Drive Discussion #6! In this thread, we’ll be discussing the Fighting Move Back-to-back Pair Fighting. Here are things to consider when responding to this thread, so if you have thoughts on any of the following please feel free to add them! And if you’re a bit unsure as to what exactly this is about, there’s a thread about the Info Drive system here. Execution: How is this move performed? What techniques are involved? Skill Level: How difficult is this move to learn? When in a cat’s training would they typically learn this move? Power: How effective is this move against an enemy? How much would it incapacitate a cat? Exclusivity: Is this move easier to perform for cats with certain traits or upbringing? Integrity: Is this seen as an honourable move in battle, or is it seen as more of a dirty trick? This thread will be open for discussion until November 30th, 2022! After that it will be locked and whatever we have decided on will be considered canon!

- A form of partner fighting, back-to-back pair fighting is when two cats cover each other’s backs and slash at enemies they face in front of them.
- This is most naturally performed by cats who know each other well, as there is a degree of trust needed for execution. In order for the technique to be most effective, cats need to be in sync with one another and spatially aware of where they are so that they don’t bump into the other. The level of difficulty also depends on how the move is performed, as there are many variations. Some cats may fight while on four legs, others may stand up on hind legs to cover their backs more.
- Though not impenetrable, this technique creates a strong barrier against attacks from behind. There’s an advantage to having more than one set of eyes to keep enemies at bay. It’s most often used in large-scale combat scenarios such as clan war or a rat infestation.
- This technique isn’t exclusive to any one group. As mentioned before, it can be naturally performed by cats who are familiar with each other.
- It leans more towards an honorable technique.
