__________________________________________ —SWEETYshe-cat · loner · thirty-one moons
_________________________________________________ The she-cat was exhausted. She hadn't done much of anything all day, really, but she was just so unnaturally tired. Life as a loner proved difficult for her. She had hunted, and hunted, and hunted this day. What had she caught? Nothing but a few measly mice and a finch. It sure wasn't a lot, but it had supplied her for the next couple of sunrises. Now, she wandered. Her usually sleek, glossy fur was matted and clung to her in clumps, shriveled and ugly. I hate it here, she growled, inwardly. Her paws pulverizing the mulch and needles beneath her, she tread on. Where else was there to go? The femme gave a sharp yowl of displeasure and pain as something jabbed into her pad. A needle, she knew almost instinctively, looking down sourly. Indeed - a small prick was embedded in her dusty gray pad, triggering a teeny spurt of blood. Cursing to herself, Sweety yanked it out quickly with her teeth, ears flattening. I need to pass through and get out of here. This place gives me the creeps. She hated to be so pessimistic, but things hadn't been getting any better for her lately. Had her father lied to her? He wouldn't, she conceded silently, and started treading on again. For a moment she thought a thin cat-scent lingered in the air, but perhaps she was just tired and not picking things up properly. ________________________________________________

P R O W L He/Him | 47 Moons | Rogue He was in a clearing in the forest, where the sun’s heat could be felt in its full force. He lied there for what seemed like moons, closing his eyes to bathe in its warmth. If there was one thing he missed about his time as a kittypet, it was being surrounded by sunny windows, and having the perfect resting place for a nap. There was another part as well, but…
The air around him stirred, sending his fur bristling. Something or someone was here. Annoyance flared out from his nostrils—wasn’t there ever a time where he could sun-bathe in peace? Apparently not. He angled his ears in different directions, trying to catch the sound of footsteps. A sharp cry from the shrubbery confirmed his suspicions about the presence of someone else. Rising up to his feet, he unsheathed his claws in anticipation of the threat.
“Who’s there?” he hissed.
