Day 21 of the Star Moon, 2020. (Jan 3, 2021). About midday.
Clementine || Queen || 21 moons
While Clementine vastly preferred the warmth of her barn and the plentiful prey that could be found there, she could only stare at the plain walls for so long before she started to go a little stir-crazy. So here she was, wandering through the snow like a mouse-brain, simply to have something to do. She had trekked farther than she normally did, having grown bored of the twoleg areas and dusty old caves near the barn. Instead, she had wandered out into the moor again, curious what it looked like under cover of snow; she hadn't been this far from her barn in a couple of moons now.
The calico soon came across a scattering of large stones poking out of the drifts, and made her own fun by attempting to leap from stone to stone without leaving any marks in the snow beneath. As she landed on a particularly tall one, she lifted her head to gaze out across the moor and to the lands beyond. She would have loved to venture farther, into the cover of the trees and across the thunderpath, but that was farther than she cared to go in such a cold season. After all, there would be no guarantee of shelter there.
Still, she placated herself with admiring the view. Clementine watched the trees for a long moment, when something suddenly moved. A bit of prey, maybe? Something other than mouse would definitely be welcome. But as she leaned back on her haunches, preparing to launch herself from the boulder, she saw that it was much too big to be prey, and blended in perfectly with the snow as it came closer. What in the stars name was that? Clementine squinted as she waited for it to approach.
