Name: Wasp
Desired Name: Waspsting
Allegiance: Loner
Rank: N/A
Age: 21 Moons
Birth Moon: Prey Moon 2019
Sex: Queen
Appearance: Wasp is an average build and size she-cat with rose Bengal markings. She has darker splotches with highlighted middle portions emphasizing her leopard look, and appearing mostly red in dim forest lighting. Her eyes are a bright light green and a bright pink nose dots her face.
Personality: Rosie used to be her name, though he was more aptly named Wasp by her family and the name stuck around, and for good reason. She has a fiery temper and personality and doesn't get along well with others at all. She takes the saying "If you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all" and turns the phrase around on its head- you'll likely never get a compliment or any sort of kind words from Wasp. Her aggression towards other cats does stem from the fact she really does worry and care for those around her- but she does not verbalize this well and ends up making enemies rather than friends, which she prefers. She doesn't like people getting in close with how her family split up. The arguing and death she blames herself for despite being so young left its mark. She does like being part of a group, as being alone is a scary idea to her and when it comes to performing her duties she'll do whatever is needed- while complaining of course.
Wasp is easily stressed and overwhelmed despite being a workaholic, she is always moving and trying to do something new. She makes sense out of chaos and chaos out of sense. She is prone to random migraines but does her best to work through them and pretend they aren't there, the cause being stress. She would die before letting anyone know she may not be feeling well. She would push herself until she passed out if it came to it- despite her aggression to other cats she wants to feel important. She wants to belong and is desperate to prove herself and misplaces her own causes stresses at the other cats around.
History: Wasp was born into an already large family of 9 out past the pine forests, originally named Rosie. It was her mother, father, their first litter of 4 young adults, and her sibling litter of 3 including herself. The 6 adults all worked together to provide food for everyone, and told stories about the ledged of 'old clans' where the family originated from many many moons ago, and how they had special names and jobs and they all worked together to keep the family strong. Her parents had no intent of reforming any sort of group, but their large family was nice to have. They lived inside an abandoned twoleg monster just off the thunderpath until Rosie was 4 moons old. After the first event is when everything went wrong. Twolegged creatures came and took their home inside the dead monster with an even bigger monster- chaining it up and lifting it from the earth. Their father and one of her littermates was crushed to death after jumping back into the monster to throw out the kits still inside. Her surviving littermate had broken a leg after being thrown from the monster from so high up. The remaining cats were homeless, and leafbare would be approaching all too soon.
The family scattered into the forest to look for a new safe place to nest while the two remaining kits stayed with their mother, who quickly instructed Wasp on making a splint for the leg and to find certain flowers around to help. Having been in the wild as a family for so long this was far from their first loss or leg break- but they new a thing or two about healing thanks to the old clan legends as well as experimental learning. Their father unfortunately had kept this knowledge himself the best out of all of them- but they would have to manage with what they knew. This was the beginning of their troubles. With all the adults busy desperate to find shelter for all of them ontop of keeping everyone fed tensions in the family grew while Rosie was left alone with her brother to make sure he stayed still and slept whenever he could to help pass time. Eventually three of the four adult siblings abandoned the family- heading off on their own in the middle of the night not wanting to take care of an injured kit or be burdened with the responsibility, and Leaf-Fall was already nearing its end. This left Wasp, her brother, her mother, and one adult sibling to help care for them. They found shelter in an old log and made do. Wasp was tasked with watching her brother still, applying herbs while her and her remaining child went out to hunt for the four of them. Wasp became as aggressive as the rest of her family had been at the time, being raised with it made it all she really knew- and it was hard getting her brother to listen to her.
It finally ended when Leaf-Bare hit, and all the family could find to eat were rats. Despite every moment of her life having been dedicated to her brother, he had grown too weak to eat and eventually succumbed to his broken leg. Wasp's mother and last remaining sibling, stricken by grief and the loss of their once blossoming family, could barely manage to eat what they didn't know to be a harmful meal. Greencough set in with the mother, who isolated herself from her kits to prevent it from spreading. Wasp refused to let her stay separated, eventually catching some of the symptoms and through trial and error with whatever she could think of at the time found something to at least alleviate the pain of the three of them once the last sibling caught it. Disease from the rats mixed with a nasty case of greencough killed Wasps remaining family, leaving her alone with nothing but rats and the sparse healing knowledge her mother had tried to give her, and her own set in sickness she was fighting against.
Wasp blames herself for the loss of her family, figuring if she had worked harder and tried more things perhaps they could have been saved. Despite her best efforts her large family was dismantled in a matter of moons and she herself barely survived- too weak to hunt or even move for that matter she lay in the log after using the very last of her strength to burry her mother and sibling where they had burried her kit sibling with the broken leg. After two days of sleep she forced herself to move- it was hunt or die and she wanted to live on despite there being no real direction or reason- she was a fighter.
She managed to scavenge after what little other animals left behind, and fought off a weak older loner for a fish he had caught to make it through Leaf-Bare and into the following thaw. Slowly she regained her strength, setting up a small territory above the moors that she defended fiercely until an event with a mated pair moving their kits. She had every plan on attacking them both on until she noticed the sad looks they had, each of them carrying one kit. They knew very well they were trespassing, but they clearly had no choice. Instead of attacking Wasp offered her help, as well as chastising the couple for whatever she saw fit. They had just lost their kit to a dog discovering their nest while they were out hunting- and were desperate to move locations far far from the twoleg place with newborn kits in toe. The father also had sustained injuries from the fight with the dog.
Wasp helped patch him up where she could, and allowed the couple to nest with her at least for the night while the recuperated. They were kind enough to see Wasp hadn't been trained to hunt properly being as skinny as she was, and she admitted she was more of a scavenger, despite there being a river full of fish below. The couple were very well fed, and taught Wasp the way of fishing before the following days of moving on to better lands, where the father had grown up, leaving Wasp alone once more. It was nice to see a family again, and she missed her own dearly.
