Honeycloud
[attr="class","familiartext"]
Honeycloud gives every impression of a gentle soul, and perhaps a strange one at that as well. With a sweet yet undeniably male scent and a very feminine look, it is hard to determine her gender, though it hardly matters for Honeycloud will accept whatever others associate them with. A soft peachy cream, her fur is long and light like pale feathers that rustle in the breeze, bibbed with white fur at her chin and chest. Like a mix between honey and lime, Honeycloud's eyes settle into a warm, pale green edging toward yellow, always holding a gentle and inviting gleam. While far from a strong fighter, Honeycloud possesses nimble, velvet paws that allow for impressive stealth and precise movement, perfect for healing and hunting. Despite the length of her fur, its thickness and water-repelling nature allows for swimming strong swimming even in chilly waters, a hobby Honeycloud loves to indulge in.
Were it possible for a soul to be too gentle, Honeycloud would be living proof of that, though it is a fact for which she is rarely apologetic. With her heart upon her sleeve no matter how many times it is spurned, too faithful and optimistic to give up on those around her, Honeycloud approaches every situation with an open-mind. Every new situation is an opportunity to heal or help others in some way, even if it is merely to offer a kind word or a smile. Honeycloud values the feelings and opinions of every soul she meets, encouraging them to speak their minds and followed their hearts - and yet, it is her own feelings that she casts aside. Never one to burden others or make them feel less of a focus to her, she will often set her own wants and needs aside to value theirs instead. It is a terrible habit, but one she seems blinded to how unhealthy it is, despite insisting against others doing such things. It always seems as though every good tendency, everything that makes her the blessed, kind soul she is, may in time cause her own demise. She is too trusting, too selfless, too gentle...there is a chance that one day she may get herself into trouble she can't back away from without going against all she stands for. Perhaps a part of her knows this, but to alter her ways...she could never be true to herself if she did that. So, instead she holed hope that perhaps her guiding paws may help others not to manipulate those softer than themselves, but see the light peeking into the dark they have shrouded themselves within.
While most, including Honeycloud herself, refer to her as female, she finds her pronouns do not matter. To her, both genders are perfectly equal, and thus, unable to separate them entirely within herself, she has openly excepted that she is simply both. With this in mind, while perhaps a little confusing, she encourages others to refer to her as they wish. Some take upon her feminine appearance, and others take upon the masculinity she was born with. Either way, she accepts these decisions wholeheartedly.

Great-grandmother: Raincloud ~ Riverclan medicine cat ~ deceased
Mother: Freya ~ deceased
Father: Mallowheart ~ deceased
Siblings: Thymepaw ~ brother ~ status unknown
Honeycloud's history did not start from the moment she was born, but from before then. Over 100 moons ago, when the clans were still whole, a Great Battle had raged that would become their downfall. It was during this battle that Raincloud, the medicine cat of what once was Riverclan, fled the battleground her home had become. It was from this she-cat that a legacy of healers would be born, starting first with her daughter, and followed moons after by her grandson.
This grandson of Raincloud's came to be known as Mallowheart, as gentle and kind as his name implied. He was a caring tom, and so it was no surprise that it was not just his proficiency in healing that drew in his future love. Freya began as a feisty molly, finding herself stuck in a situation where she had no choice but to allow Mallowheart to help her. However, as time carried on, the pair fell in love. Moons later, two treasured sons were born to the pair, named Honeykit and Thymekit.
While the wilderness was no place of comfort, Honeykit and Thymekit were expected to have a happy and peaceful kithood, one of joy, love, and exploration. For their first two moons, this was the case. However, during one of her hunting trips, Freya did not return to her family that night. Mallowheart later finds her dead the next day and despairs that he was too late to save her. His kits were without a mother now, and he had no choice but to raise them alone.
From then, Honeykit and Thymekit found life to be much different. Having little knowledge in hunting and fighting, Mallowheart spent the next several moons with his kits keeping them hidden and trying his best to give them a diet of the only prey he knew how to catch - fish. of course, they got the occasional mouse he was lucky enough to catch, but they were far from well-fed. They were far from the only predators the waters attracted, and while Mallowheart kept his kits from going too hungry, he often went without food for their sake. By the time they were old enough to hunt, while the newly named Honeypaw took to the water and practice of fishing well, the story with Thymepaw was much different. Mallowheart gave the situation another moon, but as the two young toms grew and required more food than they once did as kits, he found himself forced to make a decision. A traveler was met, seemingly an old friend, and reluctantly, Thymepaw was sent along with her. Honeypaw would not see his brother again after that day, and for several moons, he failed to understand why his father would do such a thing.
Honeypaw spends the next four moons training beneath his father beginning to explore his own self-image a little more, though wary to approach the subject with Mallowheart. His father had been teaching him herbs since he was old enough to comprehend what they were, and teaching him to fish from the age of six moons, so by thirteen moons, he was proficient in both fields of knowledge. He had always been a quick learner, but his father only had so much to teach him, and their resources seemed less and less as they traveled. One day, upon returning from a fishing trip, Honeypaw found his father fallen and weak in a pool of his own blood. There were scents of a predator around him, seemingly many, but Honeypaw did not have the knowledge to identify them. He tried all he knew to treat his father, but whatever infection the creatures had caused, he could not be rid of. He would learn in time these creatures were known as rats, creatures infested with disease and not to be underestimated for their small size, but this was not to be learned for many moons to come. For now, Mallowheart only had the few days his son could provide. It was during those days that the tom knew his life was ending, and wishing to give his son courage, he named him Honeycloud, a full medicine cat in his eyes, if no one else's. Not only did he name Honeycloud, but Mallowheart also took his dying breaths to acknowledge the difference of his son, his daughter too, he acknowledged, and encouraged him to find himself, and embrace whoever he decided to be.
With Mallowheart's last words in her head, Honeycloud was saddened, but finally able to accept who she wished to be. She had never understood the ties of gender, never seen the point in labeling a difference, and with how she appeared, with how strangers approached her before they caught her scent, was it not fair to say she was also female? This, among many other things, was an aspect of herself that Honeycloud would learn to accept throughout her moons alone. However, these moons could not last forever, as the young healer had only knowledge of fishing and healing. She could only stave her hunger for so long.
It was during a harsh drought that Honeycloud would find her first semblance of a family, since her father passed two moons before. These cats, known as The Troup, would find her weakened by hunger and struggling to find water to drink. Taking pity, the small group took her in, and she found them to be surprisingly accepting of her differences as they offered her food, water, and a safe place to sleep. She was not alone anymore. Continuing their kindness, these cats allowed her to become a part of their small society, teaching her all the necessary skills she would need to survive, should she even find herself alone again. She was not the strongest fighter or land hunter, but she took their teachings with grace and made enough progress to fend for herself. In turn, moved by their selfless compassion and generosity, Honeycloud taught them her own knowledge in turn, even taking on a young tom named Sage and teaching him to heal. The cats of the group themselves did not wish to learn much in the ways of healing, but they expressed much gratitude toward what little they agreed to learn.
After a long time with this group, at thirty moons old, it was time to leave. Sage had grown quickly, a young tom of twenty-four moons now, and his healing knowledge was coming along well. However, while Honeycloud did not doubt he loved his group dearly, he seemed both stifled by them, and spurred on by the prospect of the tales of past clans that she had told him. While Honeycloud had hoped for the group to come with them, while they wished the pair well, it was clear that they were content where they had settled, with no intention of joining the efforts to bring cats together in the hopes of reviving the past. And so, together, Sage and Honeycloud left The Troup and set out upon their new journey alone.
