The sun was warm on his belly fur, and Dusty purred to himself as was warmth of the sunhigh day wrapped around him. There was a mild breeze, just enough to keep the heat from being too much. If he perked his ears, he could even hear the singing of birds off in the distance. It was a fantastic day for hunting. 'Well, more power to them.' Dusty thought to himself, stretching his limbs before settling back down. If he was hungry he had a bowl of perfectly good kibble inside that he could get any time he wanted. Right here, right now, he was content to lounge in the sun, as he was every other day of his life. That's all his days consisted of, and he was happy. No surprises, no dangers, no worries. It was perfect. Date: Feather Moon 20.

When writing the story of your life, don't let anyone else hold the pen because my life is mine to remember The sun was shining and the soft breeze tickled her fur in the shade of the bush she crouched under. Her dark grey tabby fur was perfect to hide in the shadows of the green brush lining the hard black earth that separated her from the twolegs nests on the other side. Green eyes peered cautiously for those noisy sounding monsters that many a cat would be taken down by without a single thought or care in the world to their lives. Miku though wasn't one of those. She was in search of a specific herb, well more like flower that grows within the twoleg gardens. The key was though, she needed to get past this black road to get to the other side without getting killed. Taking a deep breath Miku looked both ways and with sharp and quick movements low to the ground was dashing across the black hard earth and to the sidewalk on the other side. She ducked under another bush and looked around to see if anyone was around or had seen her. Her heart pounding in her chest like a hummingbird trying to break free. Good, the coast was clear. Relaxing a bit Miku began to use her nose to see if she could remember where she'd found those herbs before. She couldn't go to the same place all the time or else the twolegs would realize that someone was eating their plants and do something about it so Miku was smart enough to go picking here and there when needed.
Seeing the coast was clear, the dark grey tabby relaxed and slipped through the brush and began walking along the sidewalk. All the while making sure no one else was around. Goodness knows what would happen if she'd gotten snagged by one of those twoleg kits. She shuddered at the thought. She followed her nose towards a fence and grinned as she leapt up, with a quick move dropped back down on the other side. She thought she was in the clear...until she notice someone lying down enjoying the sun and the peacefulness of day. Miku froze and looked around in a panic. They hadn't seen her yet. Should she dodge and run? She really needed those herbs though. It was the only one that she hadn't found so far that she needed on her list. They didn't seem too hostile but if they saw her would they be? Her manners wouldn't allow her to sneak by and steal the herbs she needed so she decided maybe against her better judgement; to go up to this stranger and ask them.
Padding up making sure to make enough noise so they could hear her and paused a few tail lengths away. She cleared her throat softly to gain their attention.
"Hello, excuse me. I'm sorry to um intrude but...I'm looking for something." she looked over towards the flower bed. "Some of those herbs...I mean flowers there." she spoke up softly.

Thump. Somebody was here. Somebody was in his garden. Which meant only one thing: somebody was going to try and, ugh, talk to him. By the time it occurred to Dusty he could feign being asleep, the cat was in front of him and clearing her throat. Dusty opened one eye to glance at her. He'd never seen her around but, then again, Dusty didn't exactly make it a habit of getting to know the cats around his home. She could live two houses away and he'd never know it. She spoke then, softly, like she was trying not to disturb the peace. Too late for that, kit. Dusty opened both eyes and looked at the flowers she'd gestured to, looked her in the eyes, and declared gruffly, "Never heard of 'em before in my life."With that, he turned his back on her and closed his eyes, hoping she'd take the hint and leave him alone. Dusty wasn't known for his social skills. @sass
